Zumba Instructor Network is the biggest community of Zumba Instructors. If anyone wants to become a Zumba Instructor then they have to become a ZIN member. But there seems to be a lot of question regarding Zumba Instructor Network.

Today I will address all such Zumba Instructor Network FAQ and try to answer most of them. But first let’s begin with the most easy one.

What is Zumba Instructor Network?

Zumba Instructor Network is the biggest community for Zumba Instructors all around the world. It is a monthly paid member ship program which helps you to hone your skills as a Zumba Master.

You need to join Zumba Instructor Network to get your Zumba Instructor License by paying a minimal fee. After you receive training from the instructors at ZIN you will get your Zumba License. With the help of this license you can teach Zumba either by becoming an Instructor at a Gym/Dance Studio or by opening your own Dance Studio.

The Zumba Instructor license has to be renewed on an annual basis. If you fail to renew the license then your ZIN membbership is revoked and you can’t teach Zumba. The other disadvantage is that you stop receiving all the benefits from Zumba Instructor Network.

How to Join Zumba Instructor Network?

Joining ZIN is very simple. You can go to the website “Zumba[dot]com” and sign up. Then you can click on the “Join ZIN” tab and begin with the membership process. There are a lot of benefits of joining Zumba Instructor Network.


When you initially sign up for ZIN program you are automatically opting for a 6 month membership. Your membership will automatically renew itself on a monthly, half-yearly or yearly. All this depends on your initial payment while joining the membership program. Your membership will be nullified if you cancel it yourself.

How much does it cost to be a ZIN member?

The cost to be a Zumba Instructor Network member is from $225 to $285. The money is less compared to the benefits you receive from the membership. The cost depends if you are registering for an early bird or a later membership for your first Zumba Certification Class.

If you don’t join ZIN then your membership will be over in a year and you will no longer be able to teach Zumba. After your membership has been finished, you have to take another class in order to teach Zumba again. ZIN members don’t have to take a class again to renew their membership. Members can participate in classes like Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids and Zumba Basics 2 on half price.

How old do you have to be in order to be a Zumba instructor?

To take part in Zumba Instructor Training the participant has to be 18 years or older. You can participate in Zumba Instructor Training if you are 16 or 17 years older but you must have written consent from your parents. Not just that, both the parents must sign a liability form at the Instructor training.

What does ZES in Zumba mean?

ZES in Zumba stands for Zumba Education Specialist. To become a Zumba Education Specialist, you have to be passionate, hard working and be aware of the latest trends in Zumba field. Once you get a license you need to become the member of Zumba Instructor Network having an AFAA and ACE group fitness certificates.

Being a ZES is not easy and you have to go through a series of tests to become one. First you will get a audition call from the Zumba Head Office. In this audition, you will be tested in multiple facets like communication skills, people management and teaching skills. After the audition, you are shortlisted, interviewed and re-auditioned by teaching a live class. If you pass all the tests then you become a Zumba Education Specialist. You have to audition every year to be keep your license as a Zumba Education Specialist.

A ZES makes a decent amount of money in a year. It all depends on how much students a ZES can attract. On an average a ZES makes around $38,000 a year.

I prefer sometimes to go for Home workouts. so I use Zumba DVD. The best thing about working out at home is you will have time to manage your own way as you are not going outside for any session and you will save a lot of time.
