As it turns out, It is 100% correct.
A friend of mine, George used to talk about Zumba Sentao workout all the time. I had never tried Zumba Sentao though I was a huge fan of Zumba. I thought it is a waste of time and workout for lazy asses.
Boy!! I was wrong.
I gave up and decided to attend a class after being bugged by him, A lot!!! After the workout was done, my core had an insane pump and my t-shirt was drenched in sweat.
I gave my George a ‘Wow” look. George looked at me with an “I told you so” look.
The movements of the workout were very fluid at times. It felt like I was in a dance show and I was performing for an audience with a chair.
Then the Zumba Instructor will take it up a notch and it would feel like a workout party. You could feel your muscles working.
The explosive chair-based choreography had me on the ropes ever since.
What is Zumba Sentao?
Sentao means in a chair. Don’t think of naughty thoughts when I say chair dancing.
It is also not that kind of exercise that old people do at senior centers. It is a combination of the two with the best of both workout and the drawbacks of none.
Zumba Sentao Workout is a full body routine which infuses all the funky dance moves and funky music of Zumba and adds a chair to it. When you are doing the workout you will notice that you are getting a full body workout especially your core.
When you are dancing to the musical rhythms in the class, you will see that you are doing leg lifts standing beside your chair well place in the dance choreography.
The next thing you will notice that you are doing push ups off the chair, doing triceps dips, you name it they have it.
How Zumba Sentao Started?
It all started with the Creator of Zumba – Beto Perez himself.
He took a master class in Manhattan at Crunch gym. I couldn’t attend that class in spite of being a huge Zumba fan.
The class he took was the launch of the new Zumba Dance Style – Zumba Sentao.
The class had the same magnificent Latin-infused workout but something was different.
This class included a “Chair“. #Shocked
Beto said, ” The Zumba Sentao workout takes the fitness party and partners it with explosive, chair-based choreography to strengthen, balance, and stabilize your core, and step up your cardio workout in a whole new way.” He also added, “This is a great option for first-time Zumba students because the program combines dance and fitness with traditional moves like squats, lunges, and crunches.”
When I tried Zumba Sentao Workout for the first time, the chair turned with me whenever I turned. Bumping into people was a problem but after a few minutes, I got a hang of it.
Once I got used to it, I enjoyed it like a Fat kid enjoys Ice-Cream (No Offence).
Beto gave his final thoughts on Zumba Sentao weight loss routine, “My favourite thing about teaching Zumba is seeing everyone dancing, smiling, and ‘exercising in disguise,” He further added, “That’s what Zumba Fitness is all about!“

Who can attend a Zumba Sentao Workout class?
My first encounter with Zumba Sentao training was fun and enjoyable. It may be because the Zumba Sentao Instructor has some easy modifications of the Core workout or maybe I was in a good physical condition. As I was practicing Zumba already.
Later, when I was chatting with the Instructor, she told me that the class was 6 out of 10 on the toughness scale. I felt the toughness scale was a solid 8.
As we were doing the cooling down my t-shirt was completely wet. I could feel the pump in my legs and abs.
After that, I made Zumba Sentao a regular thing.
Just after attending the first class, I understood that Zumba Sentao Chair Workout is for everyone. In my class, there were mostly females and half of them were middle-aged because of the time of the day. I think this chair workout would be appropriate for all people. Especially young people would enjoy the funky dance moves and music.
Benefits of Zumba Sentao Workout
The benefits of Zumba Sentao will make you crave for more. Like you crave for more pizza after one slice, but healthier. I could’ve used a healthier metaphor but that’s all I could think of.
Zumba Sentao will help you to lose weight. And, you already know that because Zumba is infamous for weight loss.
This blasting, latin music infused chair workout will strengthen, sculpt and stabilize your core. You will feel it in your obliques just after the first class.
The strength training moves will give you strong legs. Lunges, squats and stretches are a part of Zumba Sentao routine.
You can’t escape it. If you hate leg’s day at the gym then Zumba Sentao is not for you.
It will help you better your posture. When you stand anywhere, you will look the sexiest and the most confident of all.
Like I said before, my t-shirt was totally wet by the end of the workout. It means all the toxins from your body will be flushed out with sweat.
The biggest benefit of Zumba Sentao which I can relate to is it improves your mood significantly. The positive feeling you get after the workout is so awesome that you feel like the happiest person in the world. Your problems seem so small and you feel more happier. I really love the feeling after a Zumba workout.
Your legs will be more chiseled and more powerful. You’ll be able to see cuts in your muscles as in your legs will get more ripped.
The best advantage that I felt after my class was my heartbeat. It was neither too low nor too high. It means I was in the heart rate zone where fat loss is at the maximum.
Who doesn’t love losing some extra fat?
One more benefit of Zumba Sentao is that you can target all the major muscle groups without lifting any heavyweights. Imagine your perfect body structure when you take your shirt off at the beach.
You will start loving chairs after this workout. (Just Kidding). But, seriously, just pull up a chair and start sculpting your body.

How to prepare for a Zumba Sentao Class?
To prepare for a Zumba Sentao Chair Workout class you have to dress as simply and as lightly as possible. You will regret it if you don’t.
Keep a bottle of water with you all times because the breaks between sessions are short. Keep water handy. Trust me you’ll need it.
Wear proper Zumba Shoes.
Bring a Towel with you as well. Otherwise, Sweat Sweat Sweat all over the place.
Muscles worked during Zumba Sentao
It is a full body workout but you will feel the burn on your Abs and Obliques.
The stretching routine will leave your Hamstrings in a little bit of pain.
Your Triceps will also be pumped by the end of the Zumba Sentao full body workout.
The squats and lunges will make your Legs feel heavier than usual.
A lot of squats means your Glutes aka Butt will get a workout too.
My Final Thoughts
I completely felt the workout after the class. The next day I could feel the workout even more because my abs were sore.
That’s the most beautiful part of Zumba Sentao workout. You will slowly get stronger and faster and more flexible.
I was completely exhausted but I got a cardio workout of my life. It was much better then I expected.
I’ve made this workout a part of my fitness routine ever since I got into my first class. Thanks to George who annoyed me to take a class.
