All the Zumba lovers out there know that Zumba works like a charm. You get all the benefits of a great workout and with all the fun of a dance party. Best of both worlds in one workout. The benefits of Zumba dance exercise are not the talk of tales, the benefits are visible on a Zumba Practitioner but sometimes you don’t get the benefits you want from your Zumba dance exercise.
I am sure you are putting your 100% in your workout but you might ask yourself Why am I not losing weight with Zumba? There is something missing in your workout. What? Let’s try & break it down.

1 Ineffective Zumba Instructor
One of the main reasons why you are not getting the results that you want is because Zumba instructor is not effective enough. You might be putting your 100% but your Zumba instructor might lack energy. The program ran by your Zumba instructor might not be effective enough because the number of people in a class makes a huge difference. If your instructor crams a lot of people in one class than you might not get the chance to go all out.
The second thing might be the choreography. If the Zumba instructor is confused himself and he is modifying steps in between the workout than you might spend most of the time adjusting to the beat and the dance steps and if it goes on like this then you will not enjoy your Zumba dance exercise. Average weight loss with Zumba is possible but with an ineffective Zumba instructor, it is not possible.
2. Not Gearing up
When you are going to do Zumba Dance Excercise than you have to dress according to it. Wear freeing clothes because if you are not able to move freely than how will you enjoy the workout to your bones. For the women folks, If it is an all women class than you can wear short clothes if you are comfortable in them. The best choice for a Zumba dance exercise is wearing a tank top & yoga pants. They are really freeing. For guys, Wear shorts with a t-shirt & you are good to go.
3. Imbalanced Diet
I always say this “Nutrition is Everything.” If you are not eating right then no matter how much workout you do, it will not yield results. Don’t believe me? Ask the guy who lost weight eating Mcdonalds. Can’t find him anywhere? Exactly!!! Eat right. Eat salads, veggies, fruits, nuts, have a lot of protein and drink a lot of water.
All the above foods will fire up your metabolism & will burn calories even when you are not working out, plus all the nutrients in these foods will help you repair all the damage you did all the years by eating junk food. Have a balanced diet & enjoy your new physique.
4. Water Retention
Can you lose belly fat by doing Zumba? Yes. Water retention is one of the reasons behind you not losing weight from Zumba dance exercise. Your kidneys might not flush out all the water from your body. How does that happen? When you consume a lot of sodium or salt, your body will hold onto the water you drink. The end results him, you feel bloated and bulky.
If you want to flush out all the water from your body than there is a simple method you can follow. Drink 4 to 5 litres of water for 4 days and on 5th & 6th day reduce your water consumption up to a litre. This will flush out all the water from your body. So, keep the Sodium or Salt consumption to a minimum.
5. High expectations
How many calories do you burn in an hour of Zumba? You can burn from 300 calories to 600 calories but everyone might not burn the same amount of calories. Some people might sweat than others. If you go with the mind set of burning all the calories in one day than you might disappoint yourself and you might think that you are not losing weight & discontinue your workout.
These are a few reasons why you are not getting the results you want. Keep these points in mind and follow them properly to get optimum results. You are going to achieve your goal if you have Discipline. It is a quality very few people possess and I know my Zumba community has a lot of discipline. Keep going.
